Batman: under the red hood

This movie is one of the best comic book movies EVER and in my opinion better then Thor and the dark knight. Now if you haven't seen the movie these reviews will give away spoilers so I recommend you to go see the movie on Netflex or rent it at a video store. Okay so the movie starts at the end of death in the family where the joker(John DiMaggio) beating Jason Todd(Jensen Ackles and Vincent Martella as a teen aged Todd) with a crowbar in an abandoned warehouse. All the while we are cutting to Ra's al Ghul(Jason Isaacs) talking to his assistant(Brian George) to see if batman(Bruce Greenwood) will save Todd in time and is shocked/sad (I can't tell) that batman won't make it. We cut to the joker leaving the boy wonder on the floor of the warehouse beating to (possibly) a inch of his life once joker leaves Todd begins to crawl to the door ( joker broke at least one of his leg) and stops at the door as he notices a bomb counting down. Right has batman gets there the bomb goes off and finds Jason's dead body in the destroyed building. Fast forward 5 years and we find batman chasing three thugs in a truck with a "package" originally for the black mask when batman makes the car crash the package is revealed to be an Amazo(look it up on wikipedia) just has this happens dick Grayson/nightwing(Neil Patrick Harris) shows up and together they destroy the Amazo. They begin to interrogate the thugs when they are shot down by the red hood and batman gives chase which finally ends in the chemical plant one of the original red hoods was turned in the joker. after a discussion on the birth of the joker has one of batman's greatest failrs the red hood escapes and we cut to black mask(Wade Williams) as one of his guards says "pissed off"  about the fact he lost his money he could have gotten from selling the Amazo. This starts a what i can only say is a crime lord war against the red hood now to speed this up red hood turns out to be Jason Todd but is either insane (due to being resurrected by al ghul) or what was always this way and wants revenge over joker because he killed him and wants some revenge over batman because he let joker live he fights batman and then tells him that he has to kill the joker or kill him to stop him from killing the joker and throws batman a gun batman does neither and Todd shoots at batman and misses while batman throws a batarang at his gun and it explodes in Todd's hand and reveals a bomb and is going to blow them all up before batman can get to the bomb to disarm it the joker stops him and says that this is a better surprise and is ready for them all to die it blows up the joker and batman are fine and Todd's body is never found and the movie ends with Jason in the robin suit for the first time as a kid(couldn't find the voice actors name so didn't add him to the role of Jason Todd) and says " This is the greatest day in my life".
Now I love this movie it has great action it has a great story and is dark and gritty and isn't afraid of blood( this movie was rated PG-13) but you might be saying why didn't I hear about this because it was a direct to DVD (video is extinct by now and I really hate that) movie and it got advertised once or five times. But this should have been much more then direct to DVD it should have been released to the theaters not DVD's. verdict is 8/10 love the movie but towards the end it got kinda far fetched like how Jason set up how to get the joker and how he whined at the end but the last line of the movie had a huge impact so not all of the ending sucked.

Jason Todd

My first review was orignally going to be the animated movie Batman: under the red hood but I think I should do a anylisis over one of the main characters of the movie Jason Todd. Jason Todd was the second robin after Dick grayson moved on to be nightwing we first meet Jason at crime alley (where batman's parents died for comic newcomers and non-comic readers) trying to steal the tires off of the batmobile when batman comes along and takes him in as the new robin. Now for comic readers many know this is the origin after the event crisis on Inifinte Earths but before this event the origanal origin was very much like dick garyson's todd's parents were acrobats and were killed by killer croc (recuring batman villain) and was later adopted by bruce wayne/batman. Now for the reason comic readers know Todd back in the 80's DC and batman editor Dennis O'Neil was aware that fans didn't like Todd because "He wasn't like the first robin" so todd was kindnaped by the joker and was beating with a crowbar but before this DC comics I had an idea to hold a vote in the next comic for jason to live or die and the vote was very close but in the end jason todd died in the comic A death in the family with this iconic picture as the cover.

But years later DC comics had another idea where Jason Todd wuld come back from the grave orignally it was just clayface(another recuring villan)to trick batman. But later Todd did come back from the grave. Now origanally it was suposed to be a diffrent universes Todd but they scraped that idea. So to explain this they made a mini seires saying how he came back to life and trained with weapons and fighting arts to match batmans. But he took up the mantle of Red hood( Many people in the DC universe have taken this persoa including joker at one point) and started a territory war with the black mask(look him up on wikipedia) while still being somewhat of a anti-hero and is now a recuring villian/anti-hero thourhout the DC universe. Now my verdict over this character out of 10 is a 7/10 even though i like this chararcter I still have to admit he isn't perfect sure when he came back he had great stories but now is under used and when used has bad stoires now and days. so comment say if you agree or disagree next review Batman under the red hood.
